THE XPLORERS CHRONICLES

CHAPTER I: GENESIS

Long ago, the alien races were at war with one another. Each race would try to expand its colonies by occupying planets across the universe. Most aliens would do this by destroying existing living things.

However, the Xorlit race did not. Xorlits believed that violence was unnecessary and wasteful. They valued different lifeforms because they helped them learn more about the universe.

When Xorlits came across the planet Earth, they observed the living creatures there and watched them grow. They became especially interested in human beings, as they became more intelligent than other creatures on the planet. As they grew smarter, they began to create cultures and civilizations. More importantly, they began to create art.

The Xorlits saw art as an advanced form of intelligence. It meant that a species had a high amount of imagination and innovation. The Xorlits decided that humans had the potential to be something more. As a result, they began to help the humans discreetly. Xorlits would come disguised as humans in order to help them.

CHAPTER II:  LOST MEMORIES

Most humans were impressed by the Xorlits’ knowledge. They viewed their advanced technology as godly powers and began to worship them as deities. With the Xorlits’ guidance, humanity began to expand and went on to create amazing artistic feats. Whether it was beautiful paintings, statues, or large monuments, mankind’s potential for art was limitless.

The art of mankind soon caught the interest of other alien races. By this time, the space wars had ended and most species were bored. They learned about the Earth and the Xorlits’ work and the art there. Many alien species took a liking to the artwork of humans. Wealthy aliens offered to pay high prices for pieces of art from the area. Aliens soon came to Earth and began to influence art in another way. Much like the Xorlits, they influenced how different areas developed their aesthetics and cultures. If a person looks carefully enough, they can see the images of aliens hidden in famous artworks.

CHAPTER III:  THE NEW MANDATE

Soon aliens began to look for art on other planets as well. Art became a new hobby for aliens. It became a new status symbol and those who had rarer pieces of art were viewed as both wealthy and powerful.

The art trade created a new occupation for aliens as well where they would travel the depths of the galaxy for the rarest pieces of art. These aliens would become known as Xplorers. With art becoming extremely valuable, the alien races began to argue with one another.
Many started to fight over who owned what piece of art.

The Wogans were especially aggressive. They would take art from other Xplorers without mercy. This made other races angry and soon fights began to break out both on Earth and in outer space. This ended up killing not only aliens but humans and other species as well.
To stop the alien races from going into an all-out war, intergalactic leaders created a new law. It banned the use of violence to obtain art. Furthermore, aliens were no longer allowed to occupy Earth and influence its art.

Aside from reducing conflict, this would also address the evolving art preferences alien races now had.  By now, aliens were highly invested in humanity’s art. However, they wanted to appreciate the “rawness” of the human imagination. They didn’t like the idea of aliens influencing art anymore. They felt such art was “artificial” or “insincere to the human experience.”

The different alien species agreed to this new mandate.
